Services

The Islamic Society of Gold Coast Inc. is committed to providing a broad range of services of benefit to our growing Muslim community. We currently provide the following services:

E-Newsletter - services include:

  • Masjid prayer times
  • Reminder dates for Madrasah
  • Notification of Ramadan & Eid
  • Islamic dates and moon sighting information
  • Local Muslim community news such as funerals
  • Moral stories
  • Muslim names newly born children and reverts to Islam
  • Recipies
  • Masjid events such as lectures from local and overseas scholars and much much more!

Youth & Community - services include:

  • Youth seminars - organised by Gold Coast Masjid Youth 'Generation of Islam'
  • Sports events such as soccer tournaments, table tennis
  • Camps
  • Fundraising for construction of our very own purpose built youth and and community centre

Funerals (Mayit) - services include:

  • Training courses on performing Ghusl and Janaza's - details for these courses will be provided as they arise
  • Support with organising funeral related documentation
  • Organising and carrying out Ghusl
  • Organising and carrying out Janaza Namaz and burial including notification of time and place using our Masjid SMS Notification System

Halal Certification - services include:

  • Registeration and certification of Halal butchers and eateries with Gold Coast Halal Certification Services
  • Updated leaflet produced every six months confirming up to date certification reports
  • Random inspections to ensure all registered services maintain standards expected in order to be certified as Halal
  • Information leaflets and seminars explaining what is meant by Halal (permitted) and Haram (prohibited) in keeping with Islamic law (shariah) as explained in the Quran

Hiring Facilities - services include:

  • A function hall with capacity to seat 150 people at the basement of the Masjid is available
  • Alongside the function hall on site cooking facilities and cooking utensils are also available for hire

 Introduction to Islam - services include:

  • Introduction to the 5 pillars of Islam and what they involve
  • Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him)
  • Key Events in the Historical Development of Islam
  • Stories about other Prophets in Islam
  • Shared heritage Islam, Christianity & Judaism
  • The Four Imams & Information About Important Scholars in Islam
  • Orientation & Support Services for Reverts to Islam

Justice of the Peace (Document Certification) - services include:

  • Witnessing of Statutory Declerations
  • Witnessing and confirming identification documentation for immigration purposes

Madrasah - services include:

  • Introductory and advanced level studies of the Quran
  • Living as a Muslim of Good Character & Manners
  • Various children and adult level classes
  • Madrasah for children is Monday to Thursday from 4:30pm to 6:30pm and optional on Saturday from 10:00am to 12:30pm
  • Madrasah for children is from the ages of 5 to 16
  • Hifz classes for children with abilit, characteristics and commitment are also available

Marriage Registeration & Nikah - services include:

  • Civil Registeration under Australian law can be arranged with Imam Imraan in his capacity as a qualified marriage celebrant
  • Islamic Nikah Ceremony

  • Visitors from schools, government and community agencies are all welcome
